Where It All Began
Jo-Anne McLean’s leadership philosophy was shaped long before she entered the boardroom.
Growing up in a small rural community in Nova Scotia, she learned early that strong communities are built through hard work, trust, and people showing up for one another. That mindset has stayed with her throughout her career.
Leadership Shaped by Experience
Throughout her career, Jo-Anne has built a reputation as a strategic leader who brings both operational insight and a people-first approach to growth.
She has led teams through periods of expansion and change, including economic downturns, operational restructuring, and organizational transformation. In each situation, her focus remained consistent: lead with transparency, support people through uncertainty, and build systems that allow organizations to grow sustainably.
During periods of growth, Jo-Anne has focused on mentoring emerging leaders, building strong partnerships, and implementing practical strategies that translate vision into measurable results.
The Power of Community and Team
Outside of her professional roles, Jo-Anne’s commitment to community leadership has remained constant.
As a mother of two sons who spent many years in hockey, she quickly became familiar with the realities of team dynamics, organization, and leadership under pressure. From managing teams and coordinating volunteers to supporting young athletes and families, those years reinforced the importance of collaboration, preparation, and clear communication.
That same spirit of involvement has carried through her volunteer work—from teaching Sunday School at a young age, to managing minor hockey teams, to serving on nonprofit and community boards. She has contributed her time and leadership to organizations such as the Cobequid Community Health Foundation and her local Chamber of Commerce, helping strengthen the communities she calls home.

Today, Jo-Anne brings more than 25 years of business development and strategic leadership experience to her consulting work. Through Altitude Revenue Group she partners with organizations to help them navigate growth, strengthen partnerships, and unlock new revenue opportunities.
